Monthly exemption = $800 after a 48-hour stay in Canada
After a 48-hour stay in Canada, you are entitled to import up to $800 worth of goods including alcohol (1 liter per adult 21 years of age or older, 200 cigarettes and 100 cigars, free of tax and duty. Family members can combine their $800 per person monthly import privileges.

After 24 hours in the U.S., residents can import $50 worth of goods duty and tax free. After a stay of 48 hours, you can import $250 worth of goods.
