     Wed. November 15, 2000

Ambassador Bridge officials express their gratitude to the Canadian and American rescue teams who worked heroically to secure the safety of the nine men employed by Manz Harrison Muir Inc., the company hired to repaint the Ambassador Bridge.

We continue to hope for the safe return of Mr. James Barker who is still missing following the accident on Tuesday. Our hopeful prayers go out to his family, fellow workers and their families.

We are also cooperating in every way with the investigation now taking place, including Windsor Police and the Ontario Ministry of Labour.

Dan Stamper of the Ambassador Bridge said, "We do not have the answers to the many questions as to why such an accident happened. We are cooperating fully with the investigation by the on-site public authorities. Our prayers go out to all who are touched by the accident."

Currently traffic on the bridge is heavy but is slowly returning to normal.
